Was Gandhi right????
I have always loved this quote. For a long time I would not say that I was a Christian, because I did not want to associate myself with the legalism, hypocrisies, the conservative political movement, the moral majority (eye roll), greed, holier than thou attitudes and the bigotry that plagues most churches. BUT I matured and I realized pretty fast that I AM A CHRISTIAN and all light does NOT shine and salt that is tasteless adds nothing to savor. Therefore the world remains skeptical regarding the Light of the world and the Salt of the earth.
Jesus said….“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” —-Matthew 5:13-16
***The Church keeps crying that Jesus is the Light of the world… when Jesus has declared THAT WE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.
“FOR GOD’S SAKE…. BE LIGHT!”
