If you have spaces, gaps and glimpses of God’s love for you, His closeness to you and His very presence in your life; let me first congratulate you for having come this far. There are so many who have had no REAL experience of God Himself at all. There are even so many more people that know about God and all of the stories of His amazing works and it is even sadder that they know of Him but have not truly received Him. There are few who have not at least heard of Him.
The point of this writing is for those who have had the moments and glimpses and yet they hunger for more. I can empathize with those who having had a taste of the “One on one” presence of our God and the constant craving for more of the DEEPEST and tastiest parts. There is no way that anyone could experience such a walk in the presence of the TANGIBLE God and not desire more.
Yes our God is invisible… but only when we choose not to see. I believe this is what Christ was pleading to us when He said, “In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.” Matt 13:14. Surely we have the spiritual ability to see and hear our God. He is NOT in-perceivable or inaudible. Here is the good news… I will not ask you to send a $500 donation to purchase my teachings on a 6 CD set to learn the secret. After all I am NO teacher. But I am a believer.
We must find the place of communion with our God and in that He is Spirit this will never be accomplished by our natural effort. As we worship Him in Spirit and Truth then doors are opened by which we find ourselves near to His gentle touch, our ears tuned to His peaceful voice and our hearts filled with a Love beyond our natural reasoning. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.- John 4:24
We have to acclimate to our understanding that we were created to “WORSHIP” God.
- “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” – Revelation 4:11
- Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yes, I have made him. – Isaiah 43:7
- Give to the LORD the glory due to his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. –Psalm 29:2,
Once we are walking in the understanding that our greatest purpose in life is to worship the One who created us, we will find ourselves on a road that closes the gaps of brief glimpses and moments with our Lord. From this we move to how we commune with Him in our lives where He is beyond the Ever-Present God that we have come to adore; we seek the EVER-APPARENT God that sustains us. When arrive at the stage of our growth in faith that God is constantly apparent; then we can truthfully say that it is in Him that we live and move and have our being.’ Acts 17:28
So what has this to do with Spirit and Truth? I would venture to say that many having reached the place of such worship may at times revert to the natural ways of seeking God. Seeking with what we see, hear and feel naturally. Spiritual eyes and ears are in the spiritual heart of a person and these we seek to have opened as we seek after a God who can not be reached
The spirit of man is the lamp of the LORD, Searching all the innermost parts of his being. – Proverbs 20:27 and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:27
