He Who Has Ears…

In Revelations Chapters 2 & 3 the Lord implores the 7 churches and today’s churches as well: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

What does that mean?
Matthew Chapter 13: (Jesus speaking)
13- This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14- In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15- For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’

Look at the churches around the world today.
If we have ears that do not hear and eyes that are blindly continuing in traditions and beliefs that are not in alignment with the way of the Lord, the revelation states that Lamp shall be removed from it’s stand. Because it offers no light. A lamp must be filled with oil in order to shine. So a church must be filled with the Holy Spirit to be a beacon to a lost and dying world.

I love Revelations and as I study again this book I find these chapters to be most telling as to why people would rather worship satan or become Atheist than to turn to a Faith that denounces, hates, denies the widow & the poor, hates gays, hates people that do not look like themselves, judges others by class and society levels, looks down on the needy and the list goes on and on.

My oldest son said something to me today that blew me away as we had lunch together.
He told me that he was watching a show where young people were asked if they followed a faith or a religion.
One young lady said, “Yes, I worship satan!”
The interviewer asked her, “Why would anybody (in their right mind) worship satan?”
She answered “I worship him because anyone can worship him (he accepts everyone).”
She was saying that he does not turn anyone away. Isn’t it sad that she has rejected Christ because the church turns people away and in her mind that means Jesus turns people away.
I invite you to do an in-depth study of Revelations Chapters 2 & 3 and see what the Lord’s warning are to the churches. I invite your comments.

Peace and blessings
